Flexible Healthcare Services

Description
Social and healthcare services have traditionally been organized mostly by the public sector. As we know, the rising costs and urbanization have created lots of gaps in the equal opportunities to seek for treatment and get help. This has created a small but interesting trend of entrepreneurship in social and healthcare service sector. In rural areas where the public social and healthcare system cannot offer ”full coverage” of services, individuals have found small pockets of market to operate in and the experiences have been positive. For example, nurses could work part-time in the public sector and use 1-2 days a week to offer their services to rural areas where the public services are lacking. How might we support this kind of behavior and encourage even more social and healthcare professionals to do small-scale entrepreneurial activities? How might this affect the future of work in the social and healthcare sector? How could we bundle the different services together to offer the citizens more comprehensive range of services? In this project we want to demonstrate how the future of social and healthcare professionals’ career would look like and what measures could be taken to make it easier and more flexible to start these kind of careers.
